IU Foundation Taps Former Vera Bradley VP

The Indiana University Foundation has hired Stacy Knapper to serve as executive vice president and general counsel. Knapper previously served in a similar capacity with Fort Wayne-based Vera Bradley Inc. (Nasdaq: VRA), where she oversaw operations of the Vera Bradley Foundation.
Knapper will begin in her new role at the IU Foundation on July 11. She spent the last five years with Vera Bradley, most recently serving as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.
"Stacy is an extraordinary talent, and we eagerly look forward to having her join the IU Foundation team," said Dan Smith, president of the IU Foundation. "In every way, she is a perfect fit with the mission and the direction of the IU Foundation. Stacy, of course, possesses a strong technical legal background. But she also brings a rich new perspective formed through her combined experiences in corporate practice at Vera Bradley and the Vera Bradley Foundation. And, given her exceptional interpersonal skills and high energy level, over time, I look for Stacy to broaden the scope and impact of the role of general counsel at the IU Foundation."
Knapper enrolled at IU as a freshman before transferring to the University of Kent at Canterbury in England. She completed her law degree at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to joining Vera Bradley, Knapper served as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Kokomo-based Haynes International Inc.
