IU East Offering Flat Rate Tuition

Indiana University East is offering undergraduate students flat rate tuition beginning in the 2016-2017 academic year. Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe says the initiative, which includes credit requirements, will help students stay on track to graduate on time.
IU East says, beginning in the fall, enrolled students will pay one basic tuition rate when taking between 12 and 18 credits. The rate will be different for out-of-state students, with the exception of those who live in Ohio’s Butler, Preble, Darke, Mercer, Shely and Van Wert counties. Students in on-campus degree programs can include online courses in their credit total.
The school says the move is in line with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education’s initiative to help students graduate within four years. Cruz-Uribe says it could also encourage students to complete a minor or certificate without worrying about further costs.
