IU East Names New Dean

Indiana University East has a new dean of the School of Education. Jerry Wilde takes on the official title after serving as interim dean since July 2014.
Wilde has also served as a professor of educational psychology. He joined the university in 1998.
"Jerry brings with him many outstanding qualities to the role as dean, said Kathryn Cruz-Uribe, chancellor of IU East. "He is familiar with the campus and the faculty as well as the trends and innovations that will help prepare our student teachers as they head into the workforce."
As dean, Wilde is responsible for all aspects of the School of Education. That includes issues related to faculty, program development, student recruitment, budget management, among others.
"I am humbled to assume the role of Dean of the School of Education for Indiana University East," said Wilde. "I have the privilege of leading an amazing group of faculty and staff. The fact that our enrollments have been growing when virtually all other education programs across the state have been declining is really a testament to their dedication and hard work."
