Mohammad Torabi, founding dean of the Indiana University School of Public Health, has announced plans to step down from his administrative role and return to the faculty at the conclusion of a national search for his successor, expected no earlier than June 2017. He has served as dean since 2012. Torabi began his career at IU in 1982 as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Applied Health Science. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in public health at Tehran University, a master’s of public health at IU and a Ph.D. at Purdue University.
