The Indiana University Board of Trustees has approved six new graduate degrees and one new undergraduate degree across seven campuses, as well as renovation projects at the university’s South Bend and Bloomington campuses. The degrees approved by the trustees are pending final approval by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.

The new degrees include:

• Master of Science in criminal justice and public safety (online master’s degree for IU Northwest)

• Master of Science in genome, cell and developmental biology and a Master of Science in neuroscience (IU Bloomington)

• Bachelor of Science in data science (IU Bloomington)

• Ph.D. in musculoskeletal health sciences (IU School of Medicine)

The Indiana University Board of Trustees also approved renovation projects for the Lilly Library in Bloomington and Harper Hall in South Bend.

The Lilly Library renovation is a $12.4 million project, supported by a gift from Lilly Endowment, aims to update the 52,516-gross-square-foot area’s systems, including mechanical, lighting, plumbing and fire protection systems, as well as improvements in universal accessibility, technology, security systems and space configuration.

The lower level of Harper Hall, which is shared by the University of Notre Dame and the IU School of Medicine, is a $4 million project to develop a 8,200-square-foot research center and infrastructure to be used by Notre Dame researchers.

The board also approved renovations to several fraternity and sorority houses and updates to IU Blommington’s Ballantine Hall.
