Italian Company Buys Danco Medical in Warsaw
Italian contract manufacturer Lincotek Group has acquired a majority stake in Danco Medical from Danco Anodizing in Warsaw. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Lincotek says the acquisition strengthens its medical division and gives the company a more competitive edge in a wide range of projects.
Danco will remain an independent unit under Lincotek’s ownership, and the former owners and management team will continue to run the company.
The company says the deal includes all the service activities focused on metal surface finishing for the medical market, as well as the 35,000-square-foot facility in Warsaw.
“This is a perfect match between the two companies,” said Winfried Schaller, chief executive officer of Lincotek. “As we are able to offer a 360-degree service around all possible needs of the global orthopedic device industry. We believe that this will generate a unique platform for the industry, which is addressing major needs around supply chain simplification and lead-time reductions. Effectively offering all supply chain steps from one source.”
Danco offers surface preparation, finishing services and product identification methods for medical orthopedic device companies. Lincotek provides device engineering, casting, forging, and additive manufacturing, among others, for orthopedic device companies.
