Indiana State University has promoted Donna Simmonds to director of the Office of Student Financial Aid. The two-time State alumna has balanced building a career with being a non-traditional student since shortly after being named loan processor in 2005. Simmonds spent more than a decade in the banking industry. She completed her bachelor’s in business administration in 2011 and was promoted to loan supervisor in 2012.

Simmonds became a financial aid counselor in 2013 and was promoted to coordinator in 2015. Months later, she became assistant director. Simmonds once again returned to the classroom, this time to earn a master’s degree in human resources development in 2016.

In summer 2017, Simmonds was named interim director following the departure of Crystal Baker, who left for another opportunity.
