The partnership will also include professional development opportunities for aviation flight students.
Association education committee members will visit classrooms at least once a semester as part of the agreement. A representative from the union will serve on the Aviation Technology Department’s industrial advisory committee and an ISU faculty or staff member will work with the association’s education committee as an advisor.
Department Chair Harry Minniear says "this collaboration will provide students with a mentor they can talk to about the airline industry and get the perspective of someone currently working in the industry. Since most of our students want to fly with the major carriers someday, this is a great opportunity for them to learn more about the field before they graduate."
