Indiana State University has hired Sherard Clinkscales as director of athletics. The Indianapolis native is a former Major League Baseball 1st Round Draft Pick. Clinkscales most recently served as senior associate athletics director for student services and sport administration at North Carolina State University. He was a standout athlete at Purdue before being drafted by the Kansas City Royals. Clinkscales played three years in the Minor Leagues before injuries ended his playing career. Prior to working at NC State, Clinkscales served as an assistant director of championships for the NCAA main office in Indianapolis.
