An Indianapolis-based private equity firm has closed on the recapitalization of two Canadian pharmaceutical industry companies. Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Co. Inc. says the partnerships with GMD Distribution Inc. and Opthalmic Direct LP were “highly attractive” to the firm.

(“HKW”) announced that it closed on the recapitalization of GMD Distribution Inc. and Ophthalmic Direct LP (collectively “GMD” or “Company”) on March 24, 2015. GMD, headquartered in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, is a leading distributor to the pharmaceutical industry and specializes in supplying specialty ophthalmic pharmaceuticals to clinics across Canada.
