International Center Nets Lilly Grant

The International Center in Indianapolis has received a large grant from the Eli Lilly and Co. Foundation, which will be awarded in installments over the next three years. The $237,000 grant will support general operations as well as the launch of the center’s new Civic Engagement for Expatriates program.
The organization says the new program will offer participants the opportunity to "develop their leadership profiles and enrich their experiences as global leaders as they learn to share their talents with the civic community in Indiana." The program, which launched February 18, targets international assignees working at global companies or organizations.
"We are grateful for the support and recognition of The International Center and the role our organization has played – and continues to play – in positioning our City and State to be successful in today’s global environment," said Diane Thomas, president and CEO of The International Center. "We also appreciate the confidence the Lilly Foundation has shown our organization by asking us to develop the Civic Engagement for Expatriates program which will create opportunities for expatriated employees to become engaged in and serve the Indianapolis Community."
The International Center says the program will continue over the next six to nine months. I will culminate with match-making between participants and civic community organizations.
