International Center Establishes New Award

By Andy Ober
International Center Establishes New Award The International Center is accepting nominations through May 31.

The International Center in Indianapolis is seeking nominations for a newly-established award. The center says the Global Impression Award will celebrate emerging leaders working to globalize the state. The inaugural winner will be announced in August at the International Citizen of the Year event.

The center says the growing number of young leaders pushing Indiana’s global profile led it to create the award. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Director of Database Engineering and Global Impression Award Committee member Shash Goyal says the honor lets the center recognize leaders "whom we, unfortunately, don’t hear about on a daily basis."

The International Center is accepting nominations through May 31. The top three candidates will be invited to attend the International Citizen of the Year event on August 23 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. In February, the International Center announced it had selected Governor Eric Holcomb as the 2018 International Citizen of the Year.

Recent International Citizen of the Year honorees include Pacers Sports & Entertainment, Indiana University President Michael McRobbie and former Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) Chief Executive Officer John Lechleiter.
