Indianapolis-based Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ) is seeking tax abatement on a massive headquarters expansion that could add 430 jobs. The more than $20 million investment is also expected to help retain 970 workers at the company's headquarters. The Metropolitan Development Commission in Indianapolis is expected to hold a preliminary hearing this week on the request. The technology company says the jobs will pay an average of $31.25 per hour.

Plans call for a 120,000 square foot office building and technology center near the current headquarters. The development would be a partnership with Duke Realty Corp. (NYSE: DRE).

The abatement documents estimate the cost of the structure to be $12.4 million and Interactive Intelligence is planning another $10 million investment in technology.

If approved this week, the commission could hold a final vote July 2.Source: Metropolitan Development Commission
