California-based contact center technology company Genesys has completed its $1.4 billion acquisition of Indianapolis-based Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. As a result of the deal, Interactive Intelligence will no longer be listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
Genesys Chief Executive Officer Paul Segre will continue in his role. The company will maintain its headquarters in Daly City, California as well as the offices in Indianapolis and Durham, North Carolina. The combined operation has more than 10,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
Segre says the acquisition "ushers in a new era in customer experience." In a release from Genesys, he said, "The combination of Genesys and Interactive Intelligence creates the largest innovation leader purely focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences. We’re pleased to welcome the Interactive Intelligence team."
The companies first announced the acquisition in August. At the time, Interactive Intelligence CEO Don Brown said he was confident that the deal "provides Interactive Intelligence shareholders with immediate and significant value, and will deliver meaningful benefits to our customers, partners and employees."
