Inside INdiana Business Editorial Internship
Summer & Fall 2018
PRIMARY GOALS:
This internship is responsible for helping all aspects of the Inside INdiana Business content team meet deadlines and achieve goals. Assist with the daily content responsibilities for Inside INdiana Business Television, INside Edge electronic newsletters and the website www.insideindianabusiness.com at the direction of Inside INdiana Business staff. Also contribute to other Grow INdiana business news products and relationships.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
Inside INdiana Business Television:
- Research and check facts about companies and stories that will be featured on the weekly show
- Assist finding images, videos related to show content
- Assist with writing concise stories with focus on accuracy, clarity and proper style for the weekly show
- Greet show guests in the IIB Social Media Lounge
- Other duties as assigned
InsideINdianaBusiness.com:
- Assist with monitoring news sources, gathering story ideas
- Help with putting together daily content briefings for IIB partners
- Research stories and contact sources for items that will be posted to website
- Eventually write stories for the website based on the Inside INdiana Business format, with focus on grammar, clarity and accuracy
- Help gather and edit images for news stories
- Other duties as assigned
Specialty E-Newsletters:
- Assist with production of weekly BigWigs and New Gigs e-newsletter
- Track down and edit digital images
- Write “blurbs” as assigned
- Contact sources if there are questions about submissions
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist with production of INdiana Connections and Life Sciences e-newsletters
- Log interviews
- Track down sources/line up interviews
- Assist with research, interviews and writing during editor’s time off
- Assist with fact checking
- Other duties as assigned
Social Media:
- Edit images for mobile app
- Post items to IIB Facebook page
- Assist with @IIB Twitter feed
- Other duties as assigned
MISC:
- Represent Inside INdiana Business in a professional manner inside and outside the office
- Contribute ideas to help improve our platform of business news products
- Other duties as assigned
This is an unpaid internship that meets federal guidelines and qualifies for no compensation.
