Infosys Announces Fourth U.S. Hub

One week after cutting the ribbon on its Technology and Innovation Hub in downtown Indianapolis, India-based Infosys (NYSE: INFY) has announced plans for a hub in Hartford, Connecticut. The company says the location, which will be its fourth hub in the U.S., will create 1,000 jobs by 2022.
Infosys says the Connecticut Technology and Innovation Hub will have a special focus on insurance, healthcare and manufacturing, and will serve as the global hub for the company’s InsurTech and HealthTech efforts. It will also include insurance and healthcare labs focusing on smart underwriting, claims fraud, IoT and Cloud, the company says.
"This investment will further strengthen our ability to serve clients’ needs throughout the New England region and expand the local workforce to help our clients compete in the rapidly digitizing insurance, healthcare and manufacturing sectors," said Infosys President Ravi Kumar. "Hartford’s position as the Insurance Capital of the World, paired with Connecticut’s world-renowned academic institutions, will place Infosys in close proximity to valued clients and accelerate the recruitment of highly-skilled local talent."
Infosys announced in May it would invest $9 million to establish its first U.S. hub in Indianapolis and hire 2,000 employees by the end of 2021. Since that time, the company has also announced a Technology and Innovation Hub in North Carolina and a Design and Innovation Hub in Rhode Island.
Last week, Kumar and Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger spoke with Inside INdiana Business host Gerry Dick in Studio (i) to talk about the Indy hub. You can view that interview by clicking the link below:
