John Helling has been appointed director of public services for the Indianapolis Public Library. He previously worked as associate director for Systemwide Services for the Johnson County Library in Kansas. Helling was also a Fulbright Scholar at the Helsinki City Library in Finland. He also served as director of the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library. Helling earned his bachelor’s degree in English and his master’s in Library Science from Indiana University.
