John Aleshire, chief executive officer of the Humane Society of Indianapolis, is retiring. He has led the organization for eight years and will remain in his position through September of 2017. IndyHumane says Aleshire’s efforts as CEO led to the elimination of the organization’s debt in 2014. He also helped launch the IndyHumane Animal Welfare Center and two mobile services for low-cost vaccines and adoptions. The IndyHumane Board of Directors and senior management team will begin a search for Aleshire’s successor in early 2017.
