IndyGo to Host Celebratory Events

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIndyGo is set to begin public operations for its Red Line service September 1. To celebrate the milestone achievement, IndyGo will host special events throughout the month including Food Truck Friday, live music and a grand opening ceremony.
The event schedule includes:
Final Practice Runs August 25 – 31
New Service Launch Sunday, September 1, 7:00a.m.
For the first week of service, volunteers will be located at stations along the Red Line as a resource to riders. Red Line is free to ride from September 1 to September 30.
Grand Opening Celebration Tuesday, September 3
IndyGo will be at the Indiana State House east lawn for a Grand Opening Celebration with live music, and coffee donated by Tinker Coffee, donuts. Remarks from elected officials, community leaders, local transit leaders, and new IndyGo CEO Inez Evans will begin at 8:00 a.m.
Food Truck Friday Friday, September 6, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Downtown Indy, Inc. is extending Food Truck Friday, with food service running along the north side of Market Street between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue.
Music in Transit
In partnership with Square Cat Vinyl and the Arts Council of Indianapolis, IndyGo will host live music at Red Line stations along the route with 20 local musical acts featuring different genres of original music.
