INDYCAR Hires Curt Cavin

Subscribe NowA nearly 30-year veteran of the state’s largest newspaper has been named vice president of communications for INDYCAR. Curt Cavin, who joined the Indianapolis Star in 1987, will lead the racing organization’s public relations, media relations and digital media efforts.
Hulman Motor Sports Chief Marketing Officer CJ O’Donnell says "Curt is already a leading voice on the Verizon IndyCar Series and the best candidate to share the speed, excitement and drama of the sport. Curt will enhance our ability to share the compelling stories of our drivers and thrilling action on track. His skills and experience will complement the efforts of our strong existing communications team and will further the progress the series has seen in the past three seasons."
The Franklin College graduate has also co-hosted the "Trackside" radio show with NBCSN reporter Kevin Lee at 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis, served as a motorsports analyst for WTHR-TV in Indianapolis and contributed to Autoweek magazine.
Cavin will begin in the new role October 24.
