Indy Tops List For Mobile Service

Indianapolis is being recognized for having the best overall mobile network performance of the top 125 most populated metropolitan areas in the country. The ranking from RootMetrics shows Indy beat out major metro areas, including New York and Los Angeles.
Each metro area was ranked in six categories: overall performance, network reliability, network speed, data performance, call performance, and text performance. Indy topped the overall category and ranks in the top five for speed and data.
Mike Langellier, chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based TechPoint, says the ranking can help boost economic development in the city.
"Every tech and tech-enabled company will find that access to reliable wireless connectivity is important to operating a business given that our use of mobile phones for work and personal life have become intertwined," said Langellier. "This ranking can be leveraged for selling Indy as a city ripe for business and tech connectivity and for attracting and retaining high-skilled talent."
Indianapolis is followed in the overall category by Richmond, Virginia, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Of the 10 most populated metro areas, only Chicago ranked in the top 10 for overall performance.
