Indy to Host PubCasting Conference

Indianapolis will play host this month to around 50 public radio leaders. The conference, hosted by Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations and WFYI Public Radio, is expected to bring station managers from more than 20 states together.
IPBS says the conference will feature discussions with industry analysts on best practices and the challenges and opportunities facing public radio.
"Public media is a rapidly changing landscape with many challenges," said Lloyd Wright, president and chief executive officer of WFYI Public Media in Indianapolis. "This is a great opportunity for public media leaders to come together to proactively address them together. We hope it is the first of more such opportunities to come."
The conference will take place April 28 and 29. Indianapolis beat out New Orleans and Kansas City to host the conference, according to IPBS Executive Director Roger Rhodes.
"The cooperation shown by Indianapolis hotels, restaurants and special event sites demonstrates the visitor-friendly nature of Indiana’s capital city," said Rhodes. "We’re excited to showcase that welcoming Hoosier hospitality to our colleagues from across the nation."
