News ReleaseFor the past year, Indianapolis civic leaders have been working on Velocity, a co-created, five-year strategic action plan for Downtown Indianapolis that will be guided and activated by Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. and collaborating organizations. After months of planning, surveying, priority-setting meetings and public forums, city leaders will unveil the plan at a Downtown industry event tomorrow. The plan will serve as a refreshed vision, framework and action plan that is intended to guide future improvements and focus investments in Downtown – especially for the next 18 months to five years.
More than 500 Downtown residents, business owners, civic leaders and Downtown stakeholders are expected to attend this inaugural Annual Meeting and Velocity reveal. The event will also feature national trends facing downtowns, as well as celebrate IDI’s 20th anniversary.

IDI, in collaboration with a diverse group of civic, corporate and community leaders, began discussing the initiative earlier this year to correspond with the timing of its strategic planning process.
