A federal organization will make an announcement Tuesday in Indianapolis regarding economic development in struggling neighborhoods. Corporation for National and Community Service Chief Executive Officer Wendy Spencer and Mayor Greg Ballard will detail a partnership that includes job creation, school improvement and affordable housing efforts. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Tuesday, April 28, Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) CEO Wendy Spencer will make an important announcement that will impact economic opportunity in some of Indianapolis' most struggling neighborhoods. Wendy Spencer was appointed to serve as CEO of CNCS by President Obama and confirmed unanimously by the U.S. Senate in 2012.

Spencer will be joined by Mayor Greg Ballard to discuss how the federal government will partner with local leaders to create jobs, improve schools, redevelop stable and affordable housing, increase public safety efforts, and leverage private investments.
