Financial details were not disclosed, however Enson Group Inc. says the acquisition is expected to increase First Choice’s sales revenue by at least 60 percent over the next year.
Enson did not state whether any jobs would be affected by the deal. The company says its main interest in acquiring First Choice was its concentration on seafood distribution. Enson’s main focus is on Asian food-service products.
"The acquisition of First Choice Seafood provides us the avenue to quickly expand our market share throughout Western Ohio and a major portion of Indiana, along with expanding our product offerings with a large variety of frozen seafood." said Vivian Zheng, chief executive officer of Enson Group. "Once our customers become familiar with the Enson brand, one of our short-term goals is to penetrate the Mexican food-service sector, further increasing our variety of products to the food service/restaurant industry."
First Choice was founded in 2002 and serves customers within a 125-mile radius of Indianapolis.
