Indy Reads has named Ryan King chief executive officer. He previously served as CEO and executive director of Denver’s LoDo (Lower Downtown) District, a 30-year-old organization representing Denver’s oldest neighborhood during a time of major change and transition with more than $1.7 billion in development occurring during his tenure. King was named to the Denver Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40. He served as chief operating officer and associate publisher of a major Denver magazine. Also, King was the founder and managing partner of an organization aimed to help people recover from the housing crisis of 2008, and he was general manager of rental/retail operations for the Ritz Carlton located at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University. King is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School Leaders of Nonprofits Program. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Management at Harvard University. Indy Reads is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promote and improve adult and family literacy in central Indiana.
