Indy Reads has named Ruba Marshood chief executive officer. She will be transitioning into the role in early December. Marshood is joining Indy Reads after many years as director of partnerships & community engagement with the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia. During her time there, she spearheaded massive growth in fundraising, grant acquisition and management, non-profit and corporate partnerships, and was a crucial part of identifying systemic hurdles that clients had to overcome in order to receive services.
