Indy Hostess Bakery Undergoes Change

Kansas City-based Hostess Brands LLC has announced a change to its Indianapolis bakery. The company has issued an allergen notification to inform consumers the bakery is now a nut facility.
Hostess says the Indy bakery will be used to develop and test new nut-containing products in addition to the production of its classic Suzy Q’s and Ho Ho’s products. The company is advising consumers to check ingredient listings and allergen statements on product packaging in case of a peanut allergy as the products made at the bakery will contain peanut flour and/or peanuts.
The Indianapolis location was one of four Hostess bakeries throughout the country to reopen in 2013 after the company emerged from bankruptcy.
