New details are expected Wednesday about the 2022 College Football Playoff Championship in Indianapolis. Members of the city’s host committee will also give information about an upcoming site visit to New Orleans, the site of this year’s championship game.

Host Committee Board Chair Mark Howell will be joined by President Susan Baughman and Event Execution Chairs Bill Brooks and Carolene Mays-Medley for the announcement.

Texas-based College Football Playoff, the organization that runs the game, announced in 2017 that Indianapolis would host the 2022 event. Visit Indy estimates the game will bring a potential $150 million economic impact.

An an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Indiana Sports Corp. President Ryan Vaughn said Indy’s reputation for hosting big sporting events led to the invitation to host the game.

Inside INdiana Business will be on hand for the announcement and will have more in Wednesday afternoon’s INside Edge e-newsletter.
