An Indianapolis-based advertising and public relations firm plans to add a handful of workers as part of an expansion of digital media services. Hirons & Co. says the need to grow comes from increased demand for social media, mobile and online reputation management needs. August 21, 2013

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Hirons & Company is expanding its capabilities in digital advertising and public relations. The firm is adding to its digital roster with three new digital media positions and plans for up to three additional positions, including dedicated digital strategists designed to help clients embrace the full potential of digital media.

The expansion is spurred by dramatic changes in the media marketplace as companies and nonprofits seek more online presence and strategic pathways to handle the booming mobile and social media arenas. Companies are also looking for strategic and rapid responses to online reputation management challenges.

Among the planned hires are three paid media positions that focus on digital innovation for marketing and expanded reach, a digital graphic designer and a senior digital account strategist dedicated to servicing current and future clients who focus in online media. Additionally, a digital account strategist could be hired.

According to company CEO, Tom Hirons, there’s been a dramatic rise across the spectrum when it comes to digital placement.

“We've seen a more than 130 percent upswing in our digital media revenue during the past three years. Our traditional advertising budgets remain fairly constant and the exponential explosion in the digital space will not disappear anytime soon. This hiring effort addresses this change,” Hirons said.

A recent study by eMarketer showed U.S. adults now spend more time on digital devices than watching TV, reflecting increasing engagement with digital media even while the amount of time watching TV has remained flat.

The study shows significant growth in digital media’s ability to bring companies and customers together where the consumer is spending most of her/his time – at the computer screen, tablet or smartphone. Additionally, the ability to micro-target specific psycho-demographic populations via these technologies is unprecedented and the growth will continue, unabated.
