An Indianapolis-based private equity firm has closed on the sale of a Florida subsidiary. Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Co. Inc. says Crane Rental Corp. had been one of its portfolio companies since 2008. Crane Rental Corp. is a crane rental, hauling and rigging company based in Orlando, Florida. The buyer is Maxim Crane Works, which is a portfolio company of California-based Platinum Equity.

Earlier this year, Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Co. closed on the recapitalization of two pharmaceutical industry companies in Canada. At the time, the company said GMD Distribution Inc. and Opthalmic Direct LP were “highly attractive” partnerships for the firm.
