INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ), a global provider of software and services designed to improve the customer experience, has received a Glassdoor Employees' Choice Award as one of the Best Places to Work in the U.S.

The annual award recognizes the 50 Best Places to Work in the U.S. based solely on the input of employees via Glassdoor's anonymous online company review survey. Interactive Intelligence was ranked seventh with a 4.3 company rating out of a possible 5.

“These awards are special because they are a true reflection of the people who make up what we all too often think of as a corporate machine,” said Dr. Donald E. Brown, Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO. “After reading many of the reviews, the responses show that we are doing a good job of facilitating a culture of creativity, independent thinking, and empowerment. We also recognize that we have room for improvement and we will continue to improve upon our practices to make Interactive Intelligence an even better place to work in the future.”

“Glassdoor is working to create greater workplace transparency and is committed to helping people find jobs they love,” said Robert Hohman, Glassdoor co-founder and CEO. “Through the Employees' Choice Awards, we aim to highlight those employers that excel in keeping employees satisfied and engaged.”

The 50 Best Places to Work are determined using company reviews shared by U.S.-based employees who elected to participate in the survey between Nov. 14, 2012 and Nov. 12, 2013. The survey asks employees to rate their satisfaction with the company overall, and key workplace factors like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work/life balance, senior management, and culture and values.

To be considered for the Best Places to Work list, a company must have at least 1,000 or more employees, and have received at least 50 approved company reviews during the window of eligibility. The final list is compiled based on Glassdoor's proprietary algorithm, and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
