Tim Hankinson is in his first year as head coach, leading the team to its first postseason appearance.
Under the leadership of Hankinson, who was named head coach of the Indy Eleven in December, the team recorded an undefeated spring season, capturing the Spring Season championship. He says awards like this come with many layers to them.
"I look at the front office; our ownership; our general manager and president – the support they’ve given us; my technical staff – guys like Tim Regan, who has coached in this league all three years, he’s been here; as well as medical and other people behind the scenes; and the players," said Hankinson. "It’s all of the ingredients coming together and finding that consistency, from the start to the finish, which is what an award like that is about. It’s not just me."
The Indy Eleven will face off Sunday against the New York Cosmos, whom they defeated for the Spring Season title, in the NASL Championship final.
