Indy Details ‘Reimagining the Curb’ Effort

BlueIndy stopped its Indianapolis operations in May.

The city of Indianapolis has launched its “Reimagining the Curb” public engagement effort. The city has released a survey asking for resident feedback on ideas for repurposing the underground connections to power available at former BlueIndy sites.

In September, the city announced it would not purchase the electric vehicle charging stations utilized by the former car share service.

“This engagement is an opportunity for neighborhoods to provide direct input on sustainable reuse that improves quality of life,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. “I encourage all residents to participate and shape the future of these sites.”

The city says the electronic survey will help gauge public support of ideas submitted this summer as part of a request for information. After collecting the survey data, the city says it expects to develop plans for future uses at each public site and issue requests for proposals for specific concepts early next year.
