A new indoor sports complex could be on the way for Warrick County. Our partners at WEHT-TV say the proposed development is in the early stages with developers trying to find which parcel of land to purchase near the Warrick Wellness Trail at I-69 and State Road 66.

WEHT-TV reports the building will hold court and turf sports along with an indoor track.

“It allows things that are growing in the region and in our area like archery, marching band has indoor practice. You’ve got lacrosse, you’ve got dance, cheer, all other kinds of stuff that’ll utilize this space as well,” Steve Roelle, director of economic development for Warrick County, said.

Roelle tells WEHT-TV that the project will likely be a public/private mix of funding.
