Founding leader of the Indianapolis Public Library’s Center for Black Literature & Culture Nichelle Hayes has been named a 2021 “Mover and Shaker” by the Library Journal. She has served as a special collections librarian who has led the CBLC since its opening in 2017. Hayes is vice president of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association and Central Division Director of the Indiana Geneaological Society.
