Indianapolis International Airport travelers will have more nonstop flight opportunities. Allegiant Air launched a nonstop flight to Charleston, South Carolina last week and four additional nonstop flights will begin this week.
Allegiant’s inaugural flight to Sarasota-Bradenton will launch April 11, departing Indianapolis twice a week. Southwest Airlines has added a nonstop flight to Austin, Texas and Frontier Airlines adds an Austin flight Tuesday. The Southwest flight will run all year, with nonstop service on Sundays. The Frontier flight to Austin will leave Indianapolis on Tuesdays and Fridays. Frontier Airlines is also adding a flight to Philadelphia that begins Tuesday. The seasonal service will depart Indianapolis on Mondays and Fridays. It’s Frontier’s third new flight from Indianapolis in the last six months.
“Indy’s growth as a top leisure and convention destination, now at a record 28.6 million visitors annually, has been directly tied to our enhanced air service over the past several years,” said Leonard Hoops, president and CEO of Visit Indy. “The newest routes secured by the terrific team at the Indianapolis International Airport and their partners will continue making our city a better place to live, work, play, and visit.”
