News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — The Board of Directors of The Indianapolis Foundation, an affiliate of Central Indiana Community Foundation, approved and awarded grants of $993,930 to not-for-profits serving Marion County residents at a board meeting held on September 9, 2014. The Foundation also approved an additional $400,000 investment for final construction of 37 Place: The Heartbeat of Martindale Brightwood Community Center.

Grants were made possible by donations made to the Foundation’s Endowment for Indianapolis fund (an unrestricted fund whose grant allocations are recommended by CICF staff and approved by The Indianapolis Foundation Board of Directors). The Foundation has awarded more than $5.23 million since January 2014.

“These grants represent The Indianapolis Foundation's mission to ensure that life in Marion County continuously improves for everyone,” said Milton O. Thompson, Chair, The Indianapolis Foundation Board of Directors. “They also represent the wishes of generations of donors and the love for the community we all share.”
