Indianapolis Foundation Awards $1M in Grants

Subscribe NowThe board of directors for The Indianapolis Foundation has approved nearly $1 million in grant funding to 21 nonprofit organizations throughout Marion County. The grants will fund 23 programs and projects aimed at addressing issues, including education, economic development and community assistance.
The foundation, which is an affiliate of the Central Indiana Community Foundation, says the grants were made possible by the unrestricted Endowment for Indianapolis. Additional funding was made possible by five "field of interest" funds, including the Christmas Fund, F.R. Hensel Fund for Fine Arts, Music and Education, James Proctor Fund for Aged Men and Women, Pauline K. Stein Fund and The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund.

- Arts Council of Indianapolis – Operating Support for Community Engagement: $40,000
- Beacon of Hope Center for Women Inc. – Life Skills and Employment Assistance Program: $30,000
- Butler University – Butler Community Arts School – Arts Education Outreach: $15,000
- CHIP – Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention of Greater Indianapolis Inc. – Homeless Capacity Building and Outcome Project: $50,000
- Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund – Collection Enhancement in Marion County High Schools: $240,000
- Flanner House – FEED (Farming, Education, Employment, Distribution) Program: $30,000
- Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault Inc. – General Operating Support for Program and Training Growth: $25,000
- Indiana Repertory Theatre – Student Matinee Program: $40,000
- Indianapolis Opera – General Operating Expenses for 2017-2018 Season and Outreach: $35,000
- Indianapolis Parks Foundation – Afterschool Mobile Meals Program: $25,000
- Indy Gateway Inc. – Capacity Building: $10,000
- IndyHub Foundation Inc. – Cultivating and Engaging Young Professional Leadership in Indianapolis: $30,000
- Mozel Sanders Foundation Inc. – Annual Thanksgiving Dinner: $15,000
- Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic – Immigrant Justice Program: $40,000
- People for Urban Progress – PUP 2.0 Expansion Plan: $40,000
- Renew Indianapolis Inc. – Expanding Role in Blight Elimination Program: $50,000
- Second Helpings – Youth Hunger Relief Program: $60,000
- Southeast Community Services Inc. – Center for Working Families – Two Generation Project: $40,000
