Indianapolis Foundation Awards $1.8M in Grants

Nearly three dozen Marion County nonprofits are benefiting from Indianapolis Foundation grants. The organization says the $1.8 million will "serve a diverse population and needs."
The grants are being funded by donations to the Endowment of Indianapolis and were supplemented by the foundation’s five "Field of Interest" funds. The foundation says the money will address youth employment, arts and cultural opportunities, improved quality of life for seniors, quality housing and healthy Hoosiers, among other issues.
"Visionaries in 1916 had the foresight to create The Indianapolis Foundation so that it would continue to thrive and impact the community in perpetuity," said Greg Hahn, board chair of the Indianapolis Foundation. "While the community and its needs have changed over time, the Foundation continues to play a leadership role in addressing those needs and will continue to do so into the next century."
