Indianapolis-based Cafe Baby, which provides home delivery of fresh baby food for busy parents and caregivers, says it has outgrown two commercial kitchens and is on the hunt for a larger location on the north side of Indy.
The baby food company is co-founded by Jeannie Marrugo and her mother, Sherri Sego. The pair started out making and delivering homemade baby food for people who wanted a fresher alternative to store bought options.
Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder Sego tells Business of Health Reporter Kylie Veleta that since its inception in 2016, the company has tripled revenue each year and needs a bigger space for production.
“We have outgrown two shared spaces and we have some retailers that have their eye on us, and we are anticipating a growth spurt so we are looking for a location on the north side of Indianapolis, maybe in the Castleton area, to have about 90 percent production space and 10 percent retail space so parents can come in and pick up their baby food on the way home,” she said.
The company slow cooks and steam roasts food, then purees and freezes it to lock in nutrients. They also offer other products such as lactation cookies and age-based meals to serve mother and baby alike.
