Indiana Wins Silver Shovel Award

Indiana is among 14 states to receive a Silver Shovels award from Area Development magazine. The award recognizes state’s job creation and investment initiatives.
Indiana is one of 14 recipients of the award, which is given to states based on the number of high-valued added jobs per capita, amount of investment, number of new facilities and industry diversity. The publication says states are only compared to those in their population tier; Indiana joins South Carolina and Tennessee in the five to eight million tier.
Only six states received the Gold Shovel award: Texas, Georgia, Virginia, Arizona, Alabama, and Mississippi.
