Indiana Wesleyan brings in new chief academic officer

One of Indiana’s largest private schools, Indiana Wesleyan University, has announced a new hire for its chief academic officer and vice president of academic affairs.
David Davies will step into the role overseeing Indiana Wesleyan’s academic affairs, the school announced Tuesday. Davies is currently provost at Houghton University, a fellow Wesleyan institution in upstate New York.
“Dr. Davies is well acquainted with senior level administration within Wesleyan higher education,” said IWU President Jon Kulaga in a news release. “He is both an experienced faculty member and a senior leader with experience at multiple universities. We look forward to his creative and energetic leadership as we, Indiana Wesleyan University, become the Christ-centered university of choice for every generation!”
At IWU, Davies will oversee the school’s entire academic vision managing accreditation and academic compliance, library services, faculty research and student spiritual formation.
Davies graduated from Houghton and then received a masters and doctorate from the University of Miami in musical-related fields. Professionally, he’s spent time at Texas A&M and Nazareth College before joining Houghton.
Davies is making a move to Indiana to be closer to his daughter, who recently enrolled in IWU’s music therapy program in the class of 2029.
