Indiana Wesleyan University-Marion has appointed Reverend Dr. Andrea Summers as campus pastor and dean of spiritual formation. She most recently served as assistance professor of religion at Southern Wesleyan University. Summers has also served as an adjunct faculty member for IWU and Wesley Seminary.

Summers served as The Wesleyan Church’s director of ministry for women from 2012 to 2016, where she played a key role in launching several key initiatives such as: ALIVE, a national, multi-site women’s conference that helped redefine Wesleyan women’s ministry, the Wesleyan Justice Network, the Annesley Writers Forum and Mustard Seed Gatherings.

Summers graduated from IWU in 2000 with a bachelor of arts in psychology and intercultural relations. She earned a master of divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2008 and a doctor of ministry degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory in 2020.
