The state is scheduled to issue the monthly employment report for February Friday morning. The unemployment rate in January fell to 6.4 percent, which marked the largest month-to-month drop in two decades. Among neighboring states, the unemployment rate for February in Illinois is 8.7 percent.

It's 6.5 percent in Ohio and 7.7 percent in Michigan. The most recent figures available for Kentucky are for January. The unemployment rate there is 7.7 percent.

The national unemployment rate is 6.7 percent.
