Indiana Unemployment Numbers Set to be Released
New state unemployment numbers will be released Friday. The rate released last month remained at 3 percent, the lowest level since the mid-1990s. In June, a total of 10,000 private sector jobs were added. The unemployment rate was at 4.5 percent in June of 2016.
Indiana has the lowest unemployment rate among its neighbors. Michigan fell to 3.8 percent in June, Illinois increased to 4.7 percent, Ohio was 5 percent and Kentucky ticked up to 5.1 percent. Indiana is currently 15,700 jobs above peak employment in November 2016.
