The newest data from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development shows Indiana’s unemployment rate decreased in March one-tenth of a percent.

The Indiana DWD says the jobless rate fell to 3.9% last month, down from 4.0% in February.  The state’s unemployment rate remains lower than the national rate of 6.0%.

Of the neighboring states, only Wisconsin has a better unemployment figure at 3.8%.

Indiana’s total labor force, which includes both Hoosiers employed and those seeking employment, stands at 3.34 million, and the state’s 63.1% labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.5%.
