The state is scheduled to issue a monthly employment report Friday morning. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says a release has been delayed following this year's partial shutdown of the federal government. The state unemployment rate is currently 8.1 percent. Among neighboring states, the unemployment rate in Illinois is 9.2 percent.

It's 7.3 percent in Ohio, 9 percent in Michigan and 8.4 percent in Kentucky.

The national unemployment rate is 7.3 percent.
