The program allows students to accumulate scholarship money throughout their four years in high school that can be used toward their college education.
The program is being administered by Raise.Me, for which any high school student with an unweighted 3.00 GPA can register. Students can earn small rewards for receiving an A grade in a core course, having perfect perfect attendance throughout the school year, and performing community service, among others.
"We believe offering small financial rewards that can be accumulated over four years of high school will serve to encourage and incentivize more high school students who might otherwise not be able to attend college," said John Beacon, vice president for enrollment management, marketing and communications. "Participating students can actually watch their cumulative total of college scholarships grow as they progress toward high school graduation."
A student can earn a maximum of $11,200 over four years of high school. That money will be disbursed over four years of college and students must maintain good academic standing while completing 30 credit hours each academic year in order to keep their scholarships.
Indiana State says the program will help participants be better students when they start college. Those interested in participating can find more information by clicking here.
