Several Indiana schools are included in this year’s list of the “Best U.S. High Schools” from U.S. News & World Report. The publication ranks schools based on a variety of factors, including college readiness, college curriculum breadth, and underserved student performance.

The other factors figured into the rankings include math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, and graduate rates. U.S. News evaluated data from nearly 18,000 schools in the 2018-2019 academic year to calculate the rankings.

The Signature School in Evansville is the only Hoosier school to be included in the top 100. The remainder of the top 10 Indiana schools, with their national rankings, include:

  • West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School (239)
  • Speedway Senior High School (264)
  • Herron High School – Indianapolis (355)
  • Carmel High School (398)
  • Zionsville Community High School (407)
  • Westfield High School (504)
  • Munster High School (582)
  • Burris Laboratory School – Muncie (723)
  • Fishers High School (776)
